Our highest ever curtain installation

By: Category: News

Waverley have reached new heights with the supply and installation of voile curtains to this project in Euston Road.

With a drop of 10 metres, this was a challenging installation, involving a scissor lift, many dust sheets, a team of four and a sewing machine on site!

The curtains are hung on Silent Gliss 5600 Motorised Curtain Track which is operated by a radio controlled hand-held remote.

The main curtain fabric used was Big Weave by Kinnasand from Kvadrat. This was chosen for its patterned weave, so that it would create interesting shadows across the room. Because of the length of the curtains, it wasn’t possible to have a full drop of the main fabric. Our solution, resulting from close collaboration with Kvadrat and NEX Architecture, was to insert bands of Daybreak fabric from Kvadrat as joins in graduating widths, so as to line up with the window mullions. The curtains are edged with a chain weighted hem in the same contrasting voile fabric.

The finished installation is impressive, providing a stylish contrast to the hard surfaces and the living wall also installed in the entrance atrium.

Waverley worked on this project for Modus Workspace, and the installation was outside normal working hours.

I’m so happy with how this turned out. Great job all around 🙂
