Covid Testing for Site Safety
Lateral Flow or Rapid Antigen Tests are one of the tools being used to help detect and fight Covid-19, as these devices can identify people who have high levels of the virus who do not have symptoms and would not otherwise put themselves forward for a test.
We have now implemented a personal covid testing regime for all Waverley employees and sub-contractors visiting construction sites, using this technique.
From week commencing 8th February, we have made testing kits available to all project managers, surveyors and installers. All relevant personnel carry out a Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Test on a weekly basis (normally Mondays), not attending site until the results have been confirmed.
All results are logged and submitted to our Health & Safety Co-ordinator, with records kept centrally.
Although these tests alone can’t stop the spread of the virus, when used in combination with infection prevention control measures (hand washing, appropriate PPE, social distancing), they are a way to detect and halt it. This is another aspect of our company’s aim to achieve consistent high levels of health and safety standards, in line with the accreditations and certificates that we hold.
