Automation complements hand-sewn expertise

Waverley is investing to semi-automate its curtain workroom facility in Alresford, to cater for increased demand from the commercial sector.

Waverley Director, Bruce James says:

“We are seeing a huge increase in demand for curtains from the commercial and hospitality sectors and are responding with an investment in high quality machinery. Curtains provide excellent protection against glare and solar gain and are extensively used for flexible space division in open plan offices and public areas.”

The new machinery will bring a string of benefits to customers, specifiers and staff:

  • A tripling of production capacity for new curtains to respond to business growth
  • More consistency of finished product across multiple product orders
  • Better quality control
  • Improved lead times

This investment will put Waverley in a position to better serve the needs of its customers, providing curtains of the highest quality with short lead times.
